Val worked on Karmony most of the day and I finished unpacking the last of the 102 boxes which have been in storage for the past 3 years. There's lots to donate and lots to shred but it feels so good to get rid of the old stuff as we prepare for the new. It's been a mostly joyful journey down memory lane. We've found our first letters to each other (mushy!), some old mix tapes (delicious), and countless photo albums that keep us humble, laughing and remembering. It's easy to fall in love all over again with all these reminders of how we began.
When exhaustion and frustration were about to set it, Val announced, "We're going to the beach!"
I packed a picnic dinner ---- Mohito Steak Salad...something I just invented because it sounded good. What's a pregnant girl to do when a real mohito is but a distant memory?
We gathered the picnic supplies (wedding gifts that we are finally using!), popped the mix tape into Audaciaous (our car), and headed for Half Moon Bay.
Today's High: Lying on the beach with Val's head propped up on the belly; watching that big orange sunshine slip down into the Pacific ocean.
